About the Mouton Foundation

The Mouton Foundation was formally established in 2007 but has its roots firmly in the legacy of community development built by the Mouton family since the early 1980s. The Foundation’s vision is to create the landscape and opportunities for individuals and communities to flourish within the wider Cederberg farming areas. This is the area where Mouton’s citrus and rooibos tea is produced. Through the Foundation, the supply chain is working together to give back to the communities that grow and pack the fruit and tea at a grassroots level.

The Mouton Foundation is a non-profit Trust registered formally as a Public Benefit Organisation in South Africa. We acquire, manage, and apply social capital responsibly and sustainably with sound financial practices while adhering to trusted legal principles.

The Foundation undertakes various activities and programmes in the areas of education, health, facilities and other development programmes. By targeting all levels of the community, (individuals, families and leaders), we aim to go beyond activities to build an overarching value system and weaving a culture of empowerment through our society.
