Gianno Mentor is the first high school scholar that the Mouton Foundation is supporting. He received the scholarship based on academic and sport performance and his inherit leadership potential. He is now in Gr9 in a boarding school about 50km from his home where the school provides him with better opportunities to grow than would be available to him in Citrusdal. This is what his parents say about the opportunity afforded to him:
We, as parents of Gianno Mentor want to voice our appreciation towards the Mouton Foundation. Firstly for the Afterschool facility where our children receive extra help, making available time to do homework under supervision, extra programs to help them as well as extra math tuition. The high school scholarship helped us in our vision to give our children quality education. It provided a platform for Gianno on an academic level, especially in agriculture and sports as well as other opportunities. Personally, it also gives him a bigger chance to grow as an individual and find his purpose in life.
